2009 Winter Ecology Field Trip
On Feb 27th, the 7th grade life science class snowshoed about a mile up the north fork of Waldron Creek to learn about winter ecology.
The students worked with local scientists to learn about the following concepts:
David Cronenwett (Nature's Conservancy) talked about plant-animal adpatations to winter.
Brad McBratney (USFS) talked about snowpack monitoring and the affect of snowpack on the hydrology of the area.
Bethann Garamon (Boone and Crocket) taught the students how to field journal.
